Wadi Taibah Company, affiliated to Taibah University, has launched registration for the competition for building innovative start-ups, “Taiba Innovates”, in its fourth session, which was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah, during the closing ceremony of the competition in its third session in mid-September.
His Excellency, the Acting President of Taibah University, Prof. Dr. Sultan bin Zaid Al-Omari, said that the aim of the competition is to encourage and motivate young people to present pioneering and innovative ideas in the fields of Hajj and Umrah, date palms, e-commerce, smart cities and e-learning, in addition to post-COVID-19 innovation.
His Excellency added that the competition has proven the quality of its outputs during its past three sessions, as more than 40 startups graduated across the Kingdom in many fields, in addition to that the competition comes this year with the participation of many governmental and commercial sectors interested in modern technical fields and in a strategic partnership with the General Authority for Small Enterprises. and medium facilities.
For his part, CEO of Wadi Taibah Company, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Olayan, indicated that the terms of the competition include ideas and projects that support smart cities through modern technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, and the Internet of Things.
